I have 25 years of hands on development experience. Across several programming languages, numerous technologies, and across the entire spectrum of the software development life cycle. (and for that matter, across the IT life cycle: servers, databases, infrastructure, even physical security)

I focus on the “back end” of development, databases and the pieces that normal people don’t see.

I also have spent the last few years in efforts of outreach in my local community, trying to encourage software development as a skill. It doesn’t even have to be a career, just another skill added to how you solve problems. This blog is further outreach to the wider internet, helping more people learn.
